This exceptional release is a combination of Australian Tawny and Apera casks that have been finished for over 15 months in old Yalumba Muscat casks. This combination of Australian fortified wine casks has produced an intricate and complex whisky that draws together flavour elements from each cask type to create a unique and nuanced whisky.

With bourbon cask releases firmly within the Kinglake Distillery wheelhouse, this Double Bourbon release is an exercise in showcasing the potential of STR casks. On their off-grid carbon-neutral distillery with its own spring water, nature influences every stage of the whisky-making process. Kinglake is one of very few distilleries utilising long open ferments for their wash; allowing natural pollens and yeasts in the mountain air to impart their unique flavours. The result is a 3 year old whisky that is very similar in style to traditional Scottish malts. Expect warm vanilla and butterscotch notes from the American Oak, with a subtle sweetness and emphasis on the signature malt spirit.
