BLWC1 from Remnant Whisky Co. is a single malt with an extraordinary backstory and flavour to match. This whisky was born from casks left behind after a high-profile Tasmanian distillery collapse that left investors with little to show for their faith in local whisky. Rescued and nurtured by Remnant with a love for quality and a good dose of Aussie grit, BLWC1 has spent a decade ageing in sherry and bourbon casks. It opens with rich notes of figs and toffee apples, leads into caramel and tropical fruit on the palate, and finishes with a lingering warmth of dried fruits and vanilla oak. A true testament to resilience and mateship, it’s a dram with heart.

Timboon’s Smoked Sherry Single Malt is a whisky with depth, character, and an unmistakable sense of place. Crafted inthe heart of Victoria’s whisky country, this release combines tradition withbold creativity. Josh Walker and Charlie Johnson carefully blended first-fill and second-fill ex-sherry casks, enhanced by lightly peated Spanish sherry casks, to create a dram that’s as layered as it is balanced.
Aged for eight years in Victoria’s dynamic climate, it greets you with creamed honey and macadamia tart on the nose. The palate unfolds with brandy custard, trifle, and a whisper of applewood smoke, before finishing with notes of crème brûlée and smouldering marshmallow. This is Timboon at its best.
