Barrel Lane is Australia’s premier whisky subscription service, founded by whisky-drinking partners, Josh and Lauren. After pioneering the Garden Street Gin Club, they set their sights on a world beyond old whiskey.
We curate small-batch, exclusive whiskies for members who love discovery, story, and flavour. Our mission is simple: connect you with the best craft whiskies Australia has to offer, before anyone else.
This is a passion project dedicated to the incredible, the weird and the wonderfully overlooked corners of Australian whisky. By keeping our membership intentionally small, we share one-off releases that simply don’t exist anywhere else.

Drawn from some of Tasmania’s rarest rescued whisky stock, this 10+ year old single malt comes from Remnant Whisky Co. — a label founded in the wake of the Nant collapse to salvage and steward abandoned casks with care and integrity.Remnant releases are typically bottled in 500ml, but this one-off 700ml edition was crafted exclusively for Barrel Lane. It’s a rare opportunity to experience a defining chapter in Australian whisky, matured to its peak and bottled with purpose.

You choose how often you’d like a whisky delivered—monthly or every two months. Before each release, we’ll email you with the featured bottle. You can opt in or out, skip a delivery, or cancel anytime. No surprises, no pressure.
What kind of whisky do I receive?
Only the best of Australian craft. Every bottle is small-batch, carefully sourced, and professionally reviewed by our tasting panel. These are exclusive releases you won’t find at your local – often unavailable anywhere else.
Can I skip a month or cancel?
Absolutely. Barrel Lane is designed to be flexible. You can skip a release, pause your membership, or cancel anytime through your account. No lock-ins, just great whisky when you want it.
What’s included with each delivery?
Each box includes a full-size (700ml) bottle of premium Australian whisky, our exclusive Barrel Lane Magazine with tasting notes and distillery stories, and occasional extras like glassware or bonus drams—always curated with care.
When will I receive my whisky?
Subject to stock availability your first box will ship the next business day. Our monthly boxes are charged and shipped on the 1st of each month. Deliveries typically arrive within a few business days, depending on your location. We’ll keep you updated every step of the way.
How much is a subscription?
Our pricing is flexible, ranging from $135 to $165 per bottle, depending on the whisky and its ABV (alcohol by volume). Higher ABV or limited edition releases may sit at the upper end. Each month, we’ll share full details - including tasting notes and pricing - before you decide to opt in. You’re always in control, and only pay for the whiskies you choose to receive.

Are the whiskies exclusive to the subscription?
Many releases are exclusive to Barrel Lane members or produced in extremely limited quantities. Once a bottle sells out, it won’t be restocked or released again
After four years of building relationships with Australia’s best craft distilleries through the Gin Club, we realised something troubling. There was far too much excellent whisky quietly waiting in the wings. Naturally, we needed to put avid drinkers onto this local Aussie spirit – and in a big way.
So go on. Try it neat, and try it first.
Do you compare Australian whisky to Scotch or international styles?
Controversial, but we don’t believe Australian whisky needs comparison to its Scotch forefathers. Our focus is on flavour, technique and creativity. Barrel Lane exists to give Australian distilleries the space to speak for themselves. It’s how whisky lore evolves. No grand declarations. Just really good whisky.
Is Barrel Lane a good gift for new whisky drinkers?
Absolutely. Our whisky subscription works beautifully as a gift and is equally suited to newcomers and seasoned drinkers. Each delivery includes tasting notes and distillery insights, making every bottle approachable, educational and enjoyable.
